Our story

Two daughters, one house, our favourite corner of the world.

Spain stole our hearts a long time ago. The food, the people, the endless sunshine. Somewhere between a long lunch and another glass of Rioja, we realised we wanted a place of our own here.

Casa Lomi is that place. A peaceful retreat where mornings begin slowly, breakfasts linger a little longer, and afternoons are spent reading beneath the eucalyptus tree, sharing a board game on the terrace, and enjoying long conversations as the mountains stretch out before you.

Named after our daughters, Lois and Nomi, Casa Lomi is our little corner of the world. Today, we're delighted to share it with guests seeking space to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the beauty of the mountains.

The house

A cozy retreat with the mountains on your doorstep.

Casa Lomi is where authentic Andalusian charm meets understated luxury. Natural materials, soft tones and carefully chosen details create a place that feels calm, warm and effortlessly comfortable.

The house features a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area, a shaded veranda, and three bedrooms. Two bedrooms have comfortable double beds, while the third is furnished with two single beds. There are two bathrooms: one with a bath and separate shower, and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Outside, you'll also find an outdoor shower with a view — the perfect place to cool off after a warm summer day.

Whether you're travelling with children or simply looking to unwind, Casa Lomi has been thoughtfully designed for both. Little ones can enjoy the slide, swings, sandbox and a basket full of toys, while adults can settle into the outdoor kitchen, share long dinners at the bar or relax in the lounge as the sun disappears behind the hills.

Although there isn't a private pool at the house, you'll find a lovely public swimming pool just a few minutes away in the village of Colmenar.

Part of Casa Lomi's charm is its peaceful location. Nestled on a mountainside just outside Colmenar, the house is reached via a scenic seven-minute drive from the village.

The route is mostly paved, particularly on the steeper sections, and offers beautiful views along the way. We recommend renting a car with a reasonably powerful engine — ideally an automatic — to make the drive as comfortable as possible. A 4x4 isn't necessary.

The place

Olive groves, white villages, food that takes its time.

The house is a short mountain drive (about 7 minutes) away from Colmenar — a Spanish village that is still genuinely Spanish. No massive tourism, just friendly locals, bars and restaurants, a supermarket and a handful of small shops.

Casa Lomi is also perfectly located for exploring some of Andalusia’s most beautiful cities. The historic centres of Málaga, Córdoba, Granada, Seville and Ronda are all within one to two hours by car, making them ideal for unforgettable day trips.

Closer to home, you'll find Antequera, an atmospheric historic town with an impressive fortress and the unique nature reserve of El Torcal, famous for its spectacular limestone formations. And don't miss Comares, one of Andalusia's most picturesque white villages, perched high on a ridge with spectacular views over the surrounding mountains.
